Rapid Response

Is there an issue unique to your high school?

Rapid Response Theatre is a dynamic program allowing students to choose an issue and creatively explore solutions through on-the-spot interactive performances. Any issue, any topic, any time can be covered by our Rapid Response Theatre team – nothing is too complex.

Program structure

This flexible 60-90 minute program begins with a facilitated discussion around a nominated youth issue.

The audience and our professional acting team devise an on-the-spot scene, before a Forum Theatre style re-enactment taking on audience suggestions, ideas and participation to resolve the issue.

Why choose our Youth Choices programs

In the high-pressure world of secondary school, traditional ‘instruction’ rarely leads to behavioural change. Our Youth Choices suite uses ‘Forum Theatre’ – an evidence-based methodology where students become active participants in the narrative. By allowing teens to stop the action and trial different solutions to issues like consent, substance use, and mental health, we provide a rehearsal space for life. This ‘theatre of the oppressed’ style engagement is proven to increase retention and empower students to find their own voice.

We don’t shy away from the hard conversations. Our programs are developed in consultation with subject matter experts and Western Australian youth to ensure the scenarios reflect the actual lived experiences of today’s teenagers. Choosing Youth Choices means providing your school with a high-impact, peer-led experience that challenges prejudices, builds emotional intelligence, and equips young adults with the ethical framework to navigate adulthood safely.
