Critical and creative thinking is a global education priority and a core General Capability of the Australian Curriculum.

Constable Care Foundation, Youth Choices and the University of Queensland (UQ) are proud to bring the Teaching for Thinking: Foundational Workshop to Western Australia for the first time.

Designed for primary and secondary school educators, school leaders and administrators, this certified two-day workshop provides the practical tools, collaborative learning and expert guidance needed to embed critical and creative thinking across your school.

Participants will explore how to:

• Use cognitive verbs such as analyse, compare and explain with precision and purpose
• Design inquiry-based learning experiences that deepen student thinking
• Develop a shared language and consistent approach to teaching thinking across year levels
• Strengthen collaboration between staff to achieve shared pedagogical goals
• Embed critical and creative thinking into everyday classroom practice

Cost: $550 per person. School principals may attend free of charge.

Learn from Australia’s leading expert

The workshop is presented by Dr Peter Ellerton, Australia’s leading Teaching for Thinking trainer, Curriculum Director of UQ’s Critical Thinking Project and Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.

Dr Ellerton consults with state and national education jurisdictions across Australia and played a key role in developing Version 9.0 of the Australian Curriculum’s Critical and Creative Thinking General Capability.
