National Sorry Day 2023
Today is National Sorry Day, remembering and acknowledging the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, now known as ‘The Stolen Generation’. On this day, we reflect upon and acknowledge the strength of the Stolen Generations Survivors, and how we can all play a part in the healing process.
Reconciliation Week commences tomorrow, and the 2023 theme is ‘Be A Voice For Generations’, urging all Australians to use their power, words, and vote to create a better and more just Australia for us all.
For Constable Care Foundation, this means continuing to ensure that all of our programs and services are culturally sensitive, inclusive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and that our workplace embraces diversity and inclusivity, and is a culturally safe environment.
