Students have their say on ‘Street Safety’ and win big!

Together with WA Police Force, each year we challenge secondary students across the state to have their say on important youth issues through creativity and filmmaking.

The topic for the 2020 Your Call Student Film Competition was ‘Street Safety’. Students aged 12-18 years were encouraged to explore issues such as personal safety, road safety, theft and more.

All the judges remarked that 2020’s competition marked a clear increase in quality from the students. We are proud to give WA youth the opportunity to have their say, and showcase their impressive talent!

First place winner Eva Dragstra said “I was very surprised! I wasn’t even going to enter, but my teacher encouraged me to. I just wanted to let everyone know that being distracted by your phone when your a pedestrian may not seem like a serious topic, but it can lead to very serious injuries.”
