National Sorry Day 2022
Today is National Sorry Day, a day that remembers and acknowledges the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as ‘The Stolen Generations’.
Â
On National Sorry Day, we reflect upon and acknowledge the strength of the Stolen Generations Survivors, and how we can all play a part in the healing process. Tomorrow is the beginning of Reconciliation Week, and the theme for 2022 is Be Brave and Make Change. We encourage you to Be Brave and Make Change, and change begins with brave actions in your daily life – where you live, work, play, and socialise.
Â
For Constable Care Foundation, this means continuing to ensure that all of our programs and services are culturally sensitive, inclusive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and that our workplace embraces diversity and inclusivity, and is a culturally safe environment.
